What Is Transformation?
The term 'transformation' is used when a non-integrated school starts the process to become an integrated school.
It is a journey that can only begin with the support of parents at the school. The school takes steps to develop its ethos to ensure that the school is recognised as being open and welcoming to pupils from all backgrounds.
The school is also likely to make some changes to its governance structure and in addition may carry out a review of its curriculum provision and resources.
Transformation works - by September 2016, 25 schools had already transformed into integrated schools thanks to the support of their parents. Principals, staff and parents of these schools are happy to share their experience with other interested schools and parents.
