What Is Integrate My School?
Integrate My School is designed to enable parents to register their support for their child's school to become an integrated school.
The information you provide when you register your support on the Integrate My School website will be stored confidentially and securely by the Integrated Education Fund, a registered charity in Northern Ireland.
By becoming an integrated school, your school will welcome children from Protestant and Catholic backgrounds, as well as those of other faiths and none. For many, the transition to integrated status is a natural step, as the school may well already attract children from different religious and cultural backgrounds.
Integrated education can help your child to have more friends from different backgrounds, develop more positive social attitudes and provide new educational, social and cultural experiences.
The good news is that evidence suggests a majority of parents already support the idea of integrated education.
The process of becoming an integrated school is called transformation, and by signing a petition to register your support, you have the power to trigger this process within your school.
A Message From Liam Neeson
Liam Neeson joined forces with the Integrated Education Fund to launch "Integrate My School".
In his message of support for the campaign, Liam Neeson said, "We look to our children for the future, so why do we continue to educate them apart: different religions, different backgrounds, different schools? There is another way. Most people agree that educating children together is better way forward for our society. It's time to turn our aspiration into reality, to believe in your children and believe in their future."
Research has shown that a majority of parents want their school to become integrated. And the good news is that nearly every school can do this because transformation is supported by the Department of Education and government policy in Northern Ireland.
